Financial management of property, real estate and associated themes

Journal call for papers from Journal of Financial Management of Property and Construction

Financial management of property, real estate and associated themes

Call background and expectations

The Editorial Team of Journal of Financial Management of Property and Construction (JFMPC) has issued the following call. Papers in the journal's core subject areas (as listed under Journal scope/coverage below) will continue to receive diligent consideration for publication, but for this call, papers that deal with the financial aspects of property, real estate and its associated themes are specifically welcomed.

Suggested subjects of interest under this call include, but are not limited to:

- investment performance analysis
- real estate finance
- asset and corporate real estate management
- property taxation policy and performance
- property development and urban regeneration
- property-related local government finance mechanisms
- financial performance of alternative investment vehicles
- potential and performance of green buildings and systems

We also welcome papers that demonstrate particular involvement of industry with research endeavour (in any of the journal's themes) and, papers whose research findings hold significant social, industrial, or broader impact value.

JFMPC will give precedence to all property/real estate papers that are submitted in response to this call, by expediting as far as possible our thorough reviewing process and by minimal lead-in time to publication of accepted articles. This editorial strategy may have potential benefit to the publishing aspirations of some UK Higher Education institutions in relation to the forthcoming REF-2014 timetable.

Journal scope/coverage

JFMPC publishes original manuscripts (theoretical and empirical) within both property and construction fields on issues dealing with:

- project and corporate financing
- risk management
- market analysis, modelling and valuation of property
- building/construction economics
- investment theory and practice
- economics of sustainability and renewal
- financial implications of IT systems
- financial aspects of statutory regulations, energy and environment
- cost evaluation and financial implications of alternative procurement methods

Submissions

As a guide, articles should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words in length and comply with the author guidelines that are detailed on the JFMPC web site. Submissions will undergo double blind peer review after which they may be recommended for revisions and further review, acceptance or rejection. The journal welcomes research, technical or conceptual papers; viewpoints; case studies; and literature reviews.

Additional information

JFMPC no longer accepts papers via e-mail. Manuscripts should be submitted via the ScholarOne online system accessible through the journal's web site (or see separate link below). Authors may also use this facility to track the progress of their submissions; and journal referees will use the facility to access manuscripts and submit their valued reviews.

All queries welcome – please e-mail the Editor or relevant Associate Editor.
